Access Management
The process was added to ITIL V3 as a new process. The Access Management processes essentially execute policies defined in IT Security Management. Access Management is sometimes also referred to as Identity Management. The process objective is to grant authorized users the right to use a service, while preventing access to non-authorized users.
Access Management is of high importance from an IT Security viewpoint because as granting access to IT services and applications need to be to only authorized users.
